Weightlifter jailed for net sex offences
SHAMED weightlifting champion Alan Ogilvie has been jailed for three years for tricking young boys into taking part in internet "cyber-sex" sessions.
The Commonwealth Games medallist posted lewd footage of teenage girls which the boys thought came from live webcams they could interact with.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday heard the 41-year-old, listed as a prisoner in Edinburgh, would then record the teenage boys exposing themselves and performing sex acts.
When he appeared at court previously Ogilvie admitted communicating with young men under the age of 16 between 1 September, 2008, and 2 June, 2009, at Nisbet Court, Edinburgh, and elsewhere, and breaching his sexual offences prevention order.
The former athlete had previously been jailed for 18 months after admitting a breach of the peace involving two young boys at an Edinburgh public toilet the previous year.
He was also previously jailed for a child pornography conviction.
