Venue goes back to the 50s for film
A MUSIC venue in the capital is to be transformed into a 1950s-style holiday camp, for a special film premiere at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The Picturehouse will host the "immersive 360-degree musical experience" which promises a mixture of film, performance, music and installations.
The event has been set up by Future Cinema to celebrate the UK premiere of the film All Tomorrow's Parties.
The film, about the cult music festival of the same name, was shot in different mediums by more than 200 filmmakers, fans and musicians over the festival's recent history.
The movie features concert film of an eclectic mix of artists, including Sonic Youth, Belle, Patti Smith, and Portishead.
And after the film the venue will host a "Night of Musical Delights", featuring live performances from top-secret acts.
Fabien Riggall, founder of Future Cinema, said: "Future Cinema will create a living and breathing film and live music experience."
The event is on 24 June.
