Two freed from swings

FIREFIGHTERS have been called to the same playpark twice this week to free people who have become trapped in swings.

Fire crews used bolt cutters to free an 18-year-old girl caught in a swing at Stenhouse Drive at 12.33am this morning, while on Monday evening a 14-year-old also had to be rescued from the play equipment.

News of the bizarre rescues comes as a 17-year-old man had to be “extricated” from a swing in Galashiels, in the Scottish Borders, after becoming stuck.

Fire crews used small cutting gear and hand tools to free those trapped.

It is not yet known what has caused these people to become trapped on the swings. Crews from Sighthill attended the Edinburgh
rescues.
