Two footballers laughed at pets

Two footballers who were slammed for laughing at a homeless woman in the Grassmarket have said they were amused by her pet ferret and dog.

An image of Ryan Thomson and Paul Willis, both players with Dunfermline Athletic, was circulated on the internet. The image shows a woman surrounded by a suitcase, clothes, a box, and a dog. She is being pointed at by the footballers.

The club said: “We are now satisfied, after speaking to both players, that the photo has been taken out of context.”
