TV hopeful Craig reveals he's the Bionic Boy

BRITAIN'S Got Talent hopeful Craig Stephens today revealed that he survived a horror 70ft fall in his childhood at Salisbury Crags.

The 41-year-old singer, who with his wife Deborah forms pop act Othelio, earned the nickname Bionic Boy after he slipped off the edge of the cliffs beside Arthur's Seat in 1979.

He landed in a bush before being raced to Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Sick Kids.

Now Craig, from Portobello, is keeping his fingers crossed that he will wow Simon Cowell and the other judges into taking him through to the next round of the reality show.

He said: "Lots of people still remember me as the guy who fell off the Crags.

"I tripped over a big boulder and the next thing I know I end up in a bush with the parkie trying to rescue me. I was in hospital for a week and was a very lucky boy not to break anything."

He added that he felt his luck was about to change after visiting a clairvoyant a couple of months ago, who told him he would have a record deal by July.

Craig previously went to Hermitage Park primary school and Leith Academy.
