VIOLENCE broke out between rival sets of football supporters during Dundee United’s home match against Dinamo Moscow at Tannadice Park last night.

Several fans of the Russian club appeared to climb into the top tier of the stand where fighting broke out and blows were exchanged.

Police and stewards intervened and managed to control the situation, which developed in the first few minutes of the match.

Witnesses said between 30-40 people were involved in the violence.

Around 150 supporters of Dinamo Moscow had travelled to Dundee for the Europa League qualifying third round match, which finished 2-2.

Among the onlookers was television presenter and Dundee United fan Lorraine Kelly, who tweeted: “Full on brawl in front of me. Not seen

anything like that at football for years. Two Russian fans climb up into United tier and attack fans.”
