Troops’ return to Dreghorn Barracks is ‘success sign’

SOLIDERS’ return to Dreghorn Barracks is a “visual sign of success” in Afghanistan, troops still serving in the 
country have said.

More than 60 members of the 1 Scots arrived home in the Capital earlier this week, three months earlier than planned.

And Prime Minister David Cameron said that the number of soldiers serving in Afghanistan will be cut by almost 4000 next year.

Major Andrew Lumley, from Edinburgh, and serving with the 1 Scots, said: “The aim is to give the Afghans the ability to operate completely independently.”
