Tributes paid to victim of car accident

TRIBUTES have been paid to a man killed after his car plunged off the road and into a ditch.

Brian Crayford, who was a duty manager for First ScotRail at Waverley station, was involved in the smash near Cupar, Fife.

Mr Crayford, who was from Dundee, died in one of more than 15 crashes in the area on Monday as ice, snow and sub-zero temperatures took their toll.

Friends and colleagues of the former Menzieshill High School and Dundee College student paid tribute.

A spokesman for First ScotRail said: “All our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this time.”

Friend Jaki Thomson said: “He was a great guy – he loved life and was always full of fun.”

Michelle Lawson added on a social network site: “RIP Brian, great cousin and all round nice guy. Can’t believe it.”

The road was closed for several hours while investigations took place in the wake of the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the road between 5.30am and 6.30am to contact them.
