Trams spark more than 400 complaints in nine months

TRAM bosses have received more than 400 complaints about the project in the last nine months alone.

More than half relate to the ongoing utility diversion work or traffic diversions, but there were also complaints about the decision to build the tram line, and reports of damage to buildings.

The figures were released after a Freedom of Information request by a member of the public. However, TIE pointed out that in some cases other utility works were mistaken as being part of the project.

The figures come after the News reported that a survey showed that nearly one in ten Edinburgh residents said they wanted to get rid of the trams altogether.

Yesterday, chief executive Richard Jeffrey admitted TIE had squandered the faith of the public.
