Tram works ban scrapped
A ROADWORKS embargo at Haymarket in August has been scrapped in a bid to get tram works finished before Christmas.
The move was approved by councillors along with plans to deploy an army of "trambassadors" to try to ensure this year's Festival is not spoiled by tram work on Princes Street.
Taxi drivers and parking attendants are among those who will be recruited to the scheme, with officials demanding the ambassadors should be "presentable, articulate, courteous and friendly".
