Traders' tram invite vetoed
TRADERS in Leith say tram bosses have "vetoed" their bid to meet with a representative of the project's German contractor.
Leith Business Association hoped to invite a spokesperson from Bilfinger Berger to its monthly meeting to hear more about the details which led to an ongoing dispute which has caused on-street work to grind to a halt.
LBA said Richard Jeffrey, chief executive of tram firm TIE, vetoed the request for fear the representative might accidentally breach confidentiality obligations.
