Tractor crash sparks alert

MOTORISTS have been warned to be extra vigilant during harvesting season after a woman suffered a broken leg in a crash with a tractor.

The 18-year-old passenger had to be treated in hospital following Wednesday’s collision on the A1, two miles south of Haddington.

A police spokesman said it was a “busy time” for the farming industry and there was a “much greater likelihood of encountering tractors and other agricultural machinery, especially on rural roads”.
