Toddler fighting for life after car crash
A TODDLER is fighting for her life and two women have been seriously injured following a multiple car crash near Fife yesterday afternoon.
The 21-month-old baby girl was taken to Edinburgh's Sick Kids Hospital under police escort following the three-car smash on the A985 Rosyth to Kincardine Road at 3:40pm.
Police last night said the toddler's condition was "giving grave cause for concern". The cars collided near the junction leading to Pattiesmuir village, injuring the occupants of one vehicle – the woman driver, 24, a 22-year-old female passenger and the 21-month-old baby girl.
The adult passenger was "very seriously injured" and was being treated along with the driver at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
The 36-year-old woman at the wheel of the other car was arrested and charged with drink driving. She is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today.
A Fife Police spokesman said: "Officers are particularly keen to speak to any Rosyth-bound driver who may have witnessed the movements of a blue Range Rover car at the junction of the A985 with the road to Pattiesmuir."
