Three years for teenage armed raider

A TEENAGER has been detained for three years after taking part in an armed raid that drove a couple from their home.

Jamie Ross, 17, donned a balaclava and demanded money from Scott Chalmers during the break-in at a flat in Craigour Green.

Ross pointed a knife at Mr Chalmers’ face and said: “Give me your f****** money.”

But the victim began to recognise him and told him “Jamie f*** off, get out of my house.”

Ross replied: “I’m not Jamie, I’m Graham.” But his accomplice, who was armed with a claw hammer, said: “Come on Jamie, let’s go.”

Ross, of Marytree House, Craigour Green, had earlier admitted breaking into the home in Double Hedges Park on November 17 last year and assaulting the couple and robbing them of a TV and stand.
