Three hurt in car collision

THREE people have been treated in hospital after a two-car smash in West Lothian, which left one casualty needing to be cut free.

Emergency services rushed to the junction of the A800 and A801 between Bathgate and Armadale shortly before 6.30pm yesterday.

Firefighters said a 30-year-old man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with a suspected pelvic injury.

Two women were also transported to hospital and treated for shock and lacerations.

Crews said specialist cutting equipment was used to release one person from their vehicle.
