Therapy first for Sick Kids

THE Sick Kids will this week become the first hospital in the UK to employ a permanent practitioner to work alongside children with conditions that can affect their appearance.

Dublin-born Orla Duncan, 45, who now lives in the Capital, has been working alongside charity Changing Faces for ten years

She will use her skills to support children who are referred to the cleft and plastic surgery services at the Sick Kids.

Ms Duncan said: “I will help them to build self confidence and find ways of coping with negative comments.”
