Theatre's award nominations Traverse critics' categories
THE Traverse Theatre has scooped 11 nominations in the prestigious Critics' Awards for Theatre in Scotland (Cats).
The theatre, which specialises in new writing, is leading the field for the awards, with nominations across seven categories, including three out of the four nominations in the category for best new play.
Midsummer, Pornography and Cockroach were all commissioned or co-commissioned by the Traverse.
Artistic director Dominic Hill said: "We are particularly glad to be nominated, not only for the Traverse's own work but for our partnerships with other theatre companies throughout Scotland, England and Europe."
The Cats judges considered more than 170 new productions staged in Scotland over the past year.
