The game’s up for Facebook pirate

A MAN has been caught selling pirate computer games on Facebook, in the first case of its kind in Scotland.

A spokesman for Moray Council said the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been detected after council trading standards officers began to monitor local “buy and sell” groups on the website.

He said: “The man has been found selling pirate computer games on Facebook. This is thought to be the first case in Scotland where someone has been dealt with for selling pirate goods on Facebook.

“The case was reported to the Procurator Fiscal who considered it was in the public interest to take action.

“The case was dealt with by an alternative to prosecution as the Procurator Fiscal considered that this was the most appropriate course of action.”
