Teenager gets 12 months for blade threat

A TEENAGER who threatened to slash a group of terrified householders has been jailed for 12 months.

Brendan Martin, 19, was caught by police carrying a blade in Andrew Dodds Avenue, Mayfield, Midlothian, on June 27.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard how Martin had earlier threatened to knife a number of residents in the street with the weapon.

The court heard that police were contacted and arrested Martin shortly afterwards.

Martin, a prisoner of HMP Polmont, pleaded guilty to breach of the peace and knife possession charges last month before Sheriff Gordon Liddle.
