Teenager freed over alleged sex assault charge

A MAN due to appear in court over the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl has been freed pending further inquiries, the Crown Office has said.

The alleged attack took place in the Boyd Street area of Falkirk at about 11pm on Friday, 
12 October.

Central Scotland Police had said an 18-year-old man was arrested and
that he was due to 
make an appearance at Falkirk Sheriff Court yesterday.

But the Crown Office spokeswoman said: “After full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the report, Crown Counsel decided that the accused should be liberated pending further investigation.

“He did not appear in court.”
