A TEENAGER was killed after being hit by car while crossing a road, police said yesterday.
Euan Murray, 18, from East Kilbride, died in hospital after he was hit by a Vauxhall Vectra Car on Saturday night.
He was crossing the A726 Queensway, around 300 metres west of Murray Road when he was knocked down.
The teenager was taken to Hairmyres Hospital, where he died a few hours later.
Strathclyde police said his family had been informed of his death.
The 33-year-old driver of the car and his female passenger were not injured.
Police have appealed for witnesses and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
