Teen injured
by car strike

A TEENAGER has been treated in hospital after she was struck by a car on a busy street.

Medics rushed to the scene of the accident close to Canonmills Post Office after receiving an emergency call just before 10am yesterday.

They said they discovered a 13-year-old girl, who was complaining of back pain following the collision.

The girl was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and treated for injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

A short time later, medics were called to another incident in the west of the city after a car skidded off a stretch of
Calder Road.

They said they were alerted to the accident by police shortly after 11am, but no-one involved required treatment.
