Teen attacked over comment about barefoot woman

A BAREFOOT woman attacked a teenager in the street after taking offence at a comment the girl made.

Stacey Ure had taken her new shoes off just before the clash on Christmas Day because they were hurting her feet.

When 18-year-old Helen McDonald commented on her being barefoot in the cold, Ure threatened her before attacking her,
Livingston Sheriff Court was told. Ure, 23, of Blackburn, West Lothian, pleaded guilty yesterday to assault and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Defence solicitor Neil Robertson said Ure – who has one previous conviction – was “embarrassed” to be back before the court.

She was fined £200 for the assault and admonished on a breach of the peace charge.
