Taxi driver robbed at knifepoint

A TAXI driver has been robbed at knife point in broad daylight by two men who climbed into his cab.

The pair got into the vehicle in Dubbs Road, Port Glasgow, and asked to be taken to an address elsewhere in the town.

As the cab was heading along Fyfe Park Road one of them threatened the driver with a knife and demanded he hand over money.

The driver pulled into the side of the road at Fyfe Park Road’s junction with Glasgow Road and the suspects escaped with a three-figure sum of money.

The 66-year-old driver did not need medical treatment but was left badly shaken by the incident, which happened on Wednesday afternoon.

Police have appealed for information.
