Takeaway plan for off licence
A DEFUNCT city off licence could be turned into a takeaway.
The former Victoria Wine on Main Street, Davidson Mains, closed last year after the collapse of the First Quench chain.
Prospective takeaway manager Nojoma Khan, of Seaforth Drive in Craigleith, has lodged plans to transform it from a retail store to a hot food takeaway.
Last week, Wine Rack – another First Quench store – on the Royal Mile was turned into a tartan discount store.
Another change of use application was also lodged to turn the former Haddows on Captain's Road, in Gracemount, into a beauty salon.
On Monday, the News revealed how a team of former First Quench managers are preparing to go it alone by reopening three of the city's most successful Wine Rack stores under their new independent drinks chain Vino.
