Student Stephanie has plenty of specs appeal on the catwalk
AN EDINBURGH University student has taken to the catwalk in an international competition to find the best spectacle wearer.
Stephanie Walker, 20, was one of ten finalists from across the UK and Europe in the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year contest. The business and accountancy student was representing Scotland in the finals.
She said: "The awards were absolutely spectacular. Everyone looked amazing and the competition was so tough and although I didn't take the top prize I'll remember the occasion for the rest of my life."
Miss Walker is a keen athlete, representing Scotland in the 100m and 400m hurdles.
The awards ceremony was hosted by GMTV's Ben Shephard and Something for the Weekend lottery presenter Jenni Falconer.
Pop star Jessica Taylor presented awards to Vic Reeves and Nancy Sorrell as the nation's favourite celebrity specs wearers, while Vicar of Dibley and Royle Family actress Liz Smith was given the Services to Specs award.
