Stolen laptop contains three years of work
AN AFRICAN student at Edinburgh University has lost three years of research work after his laptop was stolen from his flat.
Robert Kuloba, 32, had stored the work for his biblical studies project about the Old Testament on the computer.
But the laptop was stolen when a thief sneaked into his Royal Mile flat on Thursday at around 8pm.
His wife, Phiona, 27, was bathing their five-month-old son, David, when the culprit entered their home. She disturbed the thief rifling through their possessions in a bedroom but the man fled with the computer.
Mr Kuloba, who lived in Kampala in Uganda, is currently working on his postgraduate degree at the university.
He said: " My wife was bathing our son and heard someone come into the flat but thought it was me. When she went into the bedroom, she found this man and he pushed past her and ran. My wife was very frightened.
"I'm trying to piece some of it back together from e-mails and things, but much of it is lost.
"I'm hoping that I will be given extra time to complete my work."
The computer has a distinctive keyboard with English, Hebrew and Arabic keys.
