Stab attack victim in critical condition
A 24-YEAR-OLD man stabbed in the street in an unprovoked attack remained in critical condition in hospital last night.
Police said he was stabbed as he walked with two friends along Shieldaig Drive near the junction with Barrisdale Way in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, around 7:40pm on Wednesday.
He was stabbed after a lone attacker wearing a grey hoodie ran towards the group. His assailant is said to be aged between 20 and 30, was around 6ft tall and of slim build.
The injured man was taken to the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow where he remained in critical but stable condition last night.
Detective Chief Inspector Pat Campbell of Strathclyde Police said: “This appears to be a totally unprovoked attack on this young man as he was out with his friends. We are carrying out inquiries in the local area.”
