St Andrews sees hotel rates fall

HOTEL prices in St Andrews have fallen by 15 per cent in the last year but are still on average the highest in the United Kingdom – according to the latest hotel price index from Hotels.com.

The average price of a hotel room in St Andrews is £133, while the second most expensive place to stay is Bath (£112), followed by London (£111), 
according to the bookings firm.

For the UK as a whole, prices dropped to an average price of £81 per night, down 1 per cent.

The cost of staying in Edinburgh (£96) also fell 1 per cent but, like St Andrews, it still features in the top ten of the UK’s dearest hotel rooms in 2012.
