St Andrew’s Day delight

A CAPITAL bakery is celebrating St Andrew’s Day by creating a patriotic cupcake.

Cuckoo’s Bakery, in Dundas Street, will offer the Millionaire’s Shortbread cupcake for sale on Friday only.

Bakers are set to begin work on the one-off cakes from 3am on St Andrew’s Day morning.

The creation boasts a caramel-filled centre encased in a crushed shortbread sponge, topped with dark chocolate butter cream and adorned with shortbread and more caramel. It is topped off with a St Andrew’s Cross flag.

Shop co-owner and cupcake inventor Graham Savage said: “St Andrew’s Day is a time for celebrating all things Scottish and what better way to do so than with an indulgent shortbread treat?”
