Spare some time for charity and Save the Children's lives

A CHARITY shop in Dalry urgently needs volunteers.

Save the Children is seeking people to help in its refurbished shop on Dalry Road.

Many of its current volunteers are to leave to return to university courses for the new term.

The appeal comes as the charity begins the biggest global campaign in its 90-year history, aimed at dramatically reducing the number of children who die before their fifth birthday. Everyone is welcome to apply and there are a number of different and interesting roles to fill. Rob McMillan, Save the Children's retail manager for Scotland, said: "Our shifts are flexible to suit volunteers and the work is varied, from pricing stock to creating eye-catching window displays, to finding treasures amongst the donations and even promoting our wider campaigns to customers.

"It's a great opportunity for someone to develop their skills in retail or build on existing skills – and to change the lives of the world's most vulnerable children at the same time."
