SNP class size plan in doubt

EXPERTS have said they are "sceptical" over the opinion that reducing class sizes will do enough to improve Scottish teaching standards.

They have instead called for ineffective teachers to "leave the profession", while making a raft of recommendations aimed at boosting growth.

The verdict is likely to be hugely embarrassing for the SNP, as it comes from economic experts picked by the First Minister.

Calls for change include looking at how the quality of teachers could be "prioritised" throughout the school system.
