Skate park dream closer to a roll-out

PLANS to create a community skatepark in Loanhead have been given a boost after the project climbed the second rung of a funding ladder.

Loanhead Community Development Association’s proposals have qualified for Stage Two in the Big Lottery Community Spaces Scotland application process.

Group chairman Gail Prince said: “Those involved are very excited about taking the skatepark project forward, and working to ensure the strongest application possible can be submitted later this year.

“In addition, we are delighted to have been successful in our application for Development Fund funding from the Big Lottery, towards design costs and carrying out a full community consultation regarding the project.”
