Sisters book in for Gaelic Mod contest
SISTERS Morven, ten, and Isla Jamieson, four, were amongst the Gaelic learners from primary schools across the city taking part in the Edinburgh Gaelic Mod this weekend.
In a special event at Tollcross Primary School, young Gaelic learners were set to compete in poetry recitation and singing, among other traditional competitions.
The addition to the Mod has been held as part of the Gaelic Learners in Primary Schools programme, which has been delivered in Edinburgh schools for the past four years. The programme sees Gaelic taught as an additional language, in the same way as French of German.
