Sir Tom launches new enterprise scheme

A NEW enterprise project aimed at boosting start-up businesses and entrepreneurial spirit has been launched at Queen Margaret University by Sir Tom Farmer.

Based at the university’s Musselburgh campus, the pioneering scheme sees the QMU link up with East Lothian Council to establish a business gateway. It is understood to be first partnership of its kind in Scotland.

Small businesses from throughout the Lothians will be able to access advice, support and training opportunities.

Rosalyn Marshall, vice principal of QMU, said: “It’s no longer realistic for all graduates to think they can walk straight into well-paid graduate positions. Graduates need to be inventive and have the ability to create their own careers.”
