Singer Paige backs Boyle for Talent title
SINGER Elaine Paige is backing Susan Boyle in tonight's Britain's Got Talent final and has wished her good luck.
Paige said she was "very touched" that the Blackburn singer had chosen to sing Memory during the semi-final stages.
She said: "I'll be watching with fingers crossed. Hopefully I'll see her on my Radio 2 show soon."
Show bosses yesterday rejected suggestions the singer might be taken out of the contest amid fears she was not coping with the pressure of her new-found fame, and Boyle herself said last night, "I'm not going to throw away my big chance now. This is my moment."
A spokeswoman for Britain's Got Talent said the 48-year-old, who has been tipped to make millions even if she loses, was receiving all the support she needed from the show's producers.
Meanwhile, Scottish Labour leader Iain Gray has revealed Boyle moved him to tears.
He said: "I was in tears at the first performance."
