Sikh community cafe on lookout for new home

A SIKH community cafe is hunting for a new home after outgrowing its premises.

Members of the Punjad'n de Rasoi, or Punjabi Women's Kitchen, are looking for somewhere else to cook their healthy Indian meals after so many customers flocked to the Acorn Centre on Junction Place, Leith, that they couldn't fit them all in.

The group will cook their last dishes at a special Diwali meal on Friday before the project goes on hold.

The cafe was set up four months ago by the Sikh Sanjog community group, which supports Sikhs living in Scotland, to give women the chance to transform their home cooking into professional catering skills.

Anyone who feels they can help can call 0131-553 473.
