Secondary school pupils set for day of energy workshops

Secondary school pupils throughout the Lothians are preparing to delve into the world of oil and gas as they embark on a project which will see them use maths skills to solve an industry challenge.

TechFest’s Maths in the Pipeline at Heriot-Watt University this week and next sees a total of 108 pupils gather for workshops and challenges.

TechFest’s Lesley Weston said: “These events give pupils the opportunity to make a connection between studying maths at school and applying it to industry.”
