Scottish Widows in £66m deal to buy Capital retail park
A MAJOR city retail park has been sold in the biggest new investment in Edinburgh so far this year.
Hermiston Gait Retail Park has been bought by Scottish Widows Investment Partnership for 66 million. It was sold by Invista Real Estate, a fund run by Clerical Medical, a subsidiary of the new Lloyds Banking Group.
The 300sq ft retail park includes a large B&Q warehouse and a new Tesco supermarket.
Dermit Smith, investment director with Colliers CRE (Scotland), which acted for SWIP, said: "This is great news for Hermiston Gait Retail Park, which has had a chequered history since it was built in 1995."
