Scots swine flu cases total climbs to 739
ANOTHER case of swine flu has been confirmed in the Lothians, the Scottish Government has said.
The case was among 53 new laboratory-confirmed incidents of the influenza A (H1N1) virus in Scotland, taking the country's total to 739.
There were a further 47 cases reported in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, two in Lanarkshire, and single cases in Forth Valley, Highland, Lothian and Tayside.
Only one of the cases was said to be travel-related.
Four people confirmed with the influenza A (H1N1) virus are currently being treated in hospital, and NHS Lanarkshire confirmed that the primary two class at St Helen's Primary School, Condorrat, have been excluded following a risk assessment.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: " I can confirm a further 53 cases of the H1N1 virus in Scotland, with the increase fitting the patterns of spread we expected to see. In the majority of the cases symptoms remain mild."
