Scots student numbers up
THE number of Scots being accepted to study at university in their home country is up by 287, new figures have revealed.
UCAS statistics showed a one per cent increase in 2012/13.
Education Secretary Michael Russell said: “Access to university in Scotland is based on the ability to learn, not the ability to pay. We want all Scots who have the ability to achieve a degree to attend university and that’s why we will introduce the best package of financial support in the UK next year.
