Scotland boss Burley nets £2m city mansion

SCOTLAND boss George Burley has splashed out £2 million on a luxury Victorian mansion in the Capital.

The house, which has been renovated by a specialist restoration firm, is located in Edinburgh's Grange neighbourhood.

The detached villa dates from the 19th century and includes an en suite master bedroom, five secondary bedrooms, drawing room, dining room, sitting room, family bathroom and breakfasting kitchen.

It also features an orangerie, cloakroom, garage, floored attic and a sprawling south-facing garden.

He bought the house from specialist restoration company, Tremmel Properties.

The house was bought by Tremmel Properties for 1,520,000 at the start of the year.

After six months' work, it sold the restored mansion to the Scotland boss and his wife Jill for 2,150,000 – ten times the UK average.

Company boss Ron Tremmel said the neighbourhood was one of the most prestigious in Edinburgh and hadn't suffered as a result of the economic crisis.

He said: "Generally speaking the Grange is bucking the current trend and continuing to sell easily."
