Scientists spend week at Westminster

RESEARCHERS from Edinburgh University are swapping their lab coats for legislation while spending a week in Westminster.

During the visit, part of a pairing scheme run by the Royal Society – the UK’s national academy of science – scientists will shadow an MP or civil servant and learn about their counterpart’s work.

They will also attend a Commons committee meeting and Prime Minister’s Questions.
