Schoolgirl suffers broken cheekbone in knifepoint robbery
A schoolgirl had her cheekbone broken as she was robbed at knifepoint during her lunch break yesterday, police said.
Two schoolgirls, aged 14 and 15, were in Queen’s Park on Glasgow’s southside at around 2pm when they were approached by a group of four people.
Strathclyde Police said a girl from the group started talking to the schoolgirl. Then a man aged 17-19 took out a knife and demanded the 14 year old’s mobile phone.
The girl refused and the man pulled her to the ground, injuring her face. He then took the other girl’s phone and ran off with the rest of the group.
The injured girl was taken to nearby Victoria Infirmary with a broken cheekbone.”
The girl who started talking to the schoolgirls is around 14 years old with ginger hair, freckles and was wearing a blue tracksuit.
The male attacker is aged 17-19 with very short fair hair and also wore a blue tracksuit.
