School praised for dedicated staff and enthusiastic pupils

TOWERBANK Primary School and nursery class has been praised by education chiefs for its “very enthusiastic” children and “dedicated” staff.

The report by Education Scotland mentioned a number of key strengths at the school, including a “vibrant and purposeful learning environment” and staff’s effective use of professional development to improve children’s learning experiences.

The progress made by children who require additional support with their learning was also mentioned as a key strength, as well as the leadership of the headteacher in bringing about school improvement.

Helping children to set personal goals for improving their work was among the recommendations to continue improving the school, as well as continuing to develop how staff assess and monitor children’s progress, and developing a clear plan to improve the curriculum further.
