Salmond unveils energy industry event in Capital
A CONFERENCE to discuss international energy investment will be held in Edinburgh this autumn.
First Minister Alex Salmond announced the conference at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner, held at Prestonfield House.
It will bring together financial services and energy industries to discuss funding for major green infrastructure projects.
The event, organised by the Scottish Low Carbon Investment Project, will also showcase Scotland's renewable energy potential.
Mr Salmond said: "This international conference will bring together the financial services and energy industries to develop innovative financing solutions for major infrastructure projects and green investment opportunities.
"In the short term it will bring investors and innovators to Edinburgh. In the longer term it will support the Government's aim to attract major investment to Scotland's energy industry."
Chamber of Commerce chief executive Ron Hewitt said: "Our future energy security needs are a challenge and an opportunity."
