Salmond prize is jewel in crown for charity auction
ALEX Salmond is to host a private view of the Scottish Crown Jewels at Edinburgh Castle as part of a special charity auction prize.
The First Minister will tour The Honours of Scotland with a group of ten people who bid highest for the prize at a fundraiser for Aberlour Child Care Trust.
The winning bidder will also enjoy luxury overnight accommodation at the Princes Street Suites. Mr Salmond said: “I am very pleased to offer my support to Aberlour Child Care Trust.
“Aberlour does excellent work in providing vital help to many of our most vulnerable children, young people and their families. The principles of the organisation complement the Scottish Government’s aim to make Scotland the best place in the world for children to grow up.”
Aberlour hopes to raise thousands of pounds for some of Scotland’s most vulnerable children through the auction.
Ken Dunbar, chief executive of the charity, said: “The First Minister has a unique glimpse into life in Scotland and we are sure that having the chance to spend some quality time with him will attract some significant bids in our auction.”
