Runrig set to storm Edinburgh Castle with perfomance next summer

LEGENDARY Scots band Runrig are to perform at Edinburgh Castle next summer as part of their 40th anniversary.

They last played the historic venue in 2008 and will take to the Esplanade on July 20.

Drummer Calum Macdonald said: “The band is delighted to be returning to Edinburgh Castle where they have performed many times over the years. The music of Runrig during such a special year for the band, in such an iconic Scottish location, will be one of the 2013 summer highlights.”

Barry Wright, director of Castle Concerts, added: “As Runrig are celebrating their 40th anniversary with a series of special concerts, where else could they play other than Edinburgh Castle.”
