Running shoe crosses bridge for MS cause

A PERSONAL trainer has run across the Forth Road Bridge dressed as a large running shoe to raise money for multiple sclerosis.

Simon Barnes, 39, was joined by his friend and award-winning runner Lloyd Moreton, who was dressed as a tree.

The fancy dress parade is part of a John O'Groats to Land's End run that Simon, of Gloucestershire, is running to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre. Part of the 25,000 he hopes to collect will be donated to the MS Therapy Centre in Leith.

Mr Barnes left John O' Groats on Saturday, 12 September. He hopes to reach Land's End, 871 miles away, on 28 September, covering 55 miles a day.

He said: "I needed to do something big to raise a significant amount of awareness and money."
