Rosslyn Chapel kicks off £1m bid to buy a new roof
THE Rosslyn Chapel has launched a £1 million appeal to raise funding to secure its future as work on its crumbling roof gets underway.
Work is set to start next month on a brand new roof.
The Rosslyn Chapel Trust is seeking to make up a final 1 million to ensure a 9 million restoration can be completed within the next year on the building, which has featured in high profile films including The Da Vinci Code.
The attraction has been in need of renovation work for decades, partly because of the poor quality of a major revamp in the 1950s.
Work has already begun on restoring the stained glass windows in the main body of the building.
